Taiwanese electronics giant ASUS has announced three new gaming laptops in its ROG series in the Philippines. The laptops include the ROG G701, ROG Strix GL702, and ROG Strix GL753. All three laptops come in the same size but differ in their configurations. We’ll take a closer look at their specs one after another.


The ASUS ROG G701 sports a 17.3-inch Full HD display and is powered by an Intel Core i7 7820HK processor while the graphics are supported by a NVIDIA GeForce GTX. The laptop packs a mammoth 8GB GDDR5X VRAM as well as 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz SDRAM. There is also two 512GB PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD under the hood.

The laptop is said to be VR Ready and comes with an anti-ghosting backlit keyboard which makes it easy to type even in the dark. There are the regular features like WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, HD webcam, HDMI, USB 3.0 Type-A, USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 3, Mini display port, and microSD card slot. The ROG G701 equally pack a 6cells 93 Whrs battery and boots Windows 10.

You also get a SICA mouse, ROG gaming backpack, and Cerberus gaming headset, if you are buying the ROG G701 which carries a retail price of Php209,995. ASUS is also waving a 2 years global warranty on the laptop.

ASUS ROG Strix GL702

The ASUS ROG Strix GL702 also feature a 17.3-inch 4K UHD display (3840 x 2160) with anti-glare. The Strix GL702 gaming laptop uses an Intel Core i7 770HQ CPU and has two storage versions available. There is a version with 6GB GDDR5 VRAM + 16GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 which carries the model number GL702VM. There is also a second model with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM + 32GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM, which also utilizes a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. Its model number is GL702VS.


Both models also come with 1TB 7200RPM HDD and 128GB SATA3 SSD. There is also an anti-ghosting backlit keyboard with a highlighted WASD keys on the device. In addition, the ROG Strix GL702 features WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, HD Webcam with array mic, HDMI, USB 3.0, USB Type-C, microSD card slot. There is also a 4-cell 76 Whrs battery onboard the laptop which runs Windows 10.

As for the price, the ASUS ROG Strix GL702 model GL702VS is priced at Php164,995 while the ROG Strix GL702 (GL702M) carries a price tag of Php119,995. Like the  ROG G701, buyers also get 2 years global warranty, SICA mouse, ROG gaming backpack, and Cerberus gaming headset along with the laptop.


The ASUS ROG Strix GL753VE is obviously the lowest of the three models specs wise even though it features the same 17.3-inch display. However, its display is a non-glare IPS FHD display with NVIDIA G-SYNC. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti firing up the graphics. There is also 4GB GDDR5 VRAM and 8GB DDR4 2133MHz onboard the notebook. The gaming laptop also comes with 1TB HDD as well as 128GB SATA3 SSD.

Furthermore, the ROG Strix GL753VE comes with an illuminated chiclet keyboard with marked WASD keys. There are also connectivity features like WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, RJ45 LAN, HDMI port. The laptop also features an HD Webcam as well as 48Whrs battery. As usual, it runs on a Windows 10 operating system.

The ASUS ROG Strix GL753VE price is set at Php79,995 and it equally comes with 2 years global warranty.
