Huawei recently held a big event in China and launched a bunch of new devices. Today we’ll take a look at the new MateBook D14 and D16 2023, as well as the new Smart Screen S3 Pro.
As the name suggests, the new Huawei MateBook D14 and D16 2023 are almost the same but differ in screen sizes: 14 inches and 16 inches, respectively. Both are IPS panels with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The smaller model can be had with either 13th-gen Intel Core i5-1340P or i7-1360P processors while the 16-inch model can be configured with up to an Intel Core i9-1390H CPU. The bigger model also has a larger 60Wh battery while the latter has 56Wh. But whichever you get, you’d take home a 65W USB-C power adapter.
Both models can then be bought with up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD.
The new Huawei MateBook D14 2023 has a starting price of CNY5,099 (~Php41,500) while the MateBook D16 2023 begins at CNY5,699 (~php46,400). They will be available in China starting April 26.
Meanwhile, the new Huawei Smart Screen S3 Pro TV comes in 65-inch and 75-inch flavors. Whatever you choose, you’d be getting an LCD panel with a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution, and a fast 120Hz refresh rate, which can be upscaled to 240Hz in gaming mode. It also has 400 nits of peak brightness and 92% DCI-P3 color coverage.
Of course, it runs on Huawei’s own HarmonyOS 3.1 software with the processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
For input, it has 3x HDMI 2.1, 1x AV, 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, and an ethernet port for connectivity. You can also attach a magnetic camera for video calls.
The new Huawei Smart Screen S3 Pro TV is available for CNY5,999 (~Php48,800) for the 65-inch model and CNY7,999 (~Php65,200) for the 75-inch. No word yet if and when all these new products are coming to the Philippines.
