HUAWEI released a new gaming-centric laptop called MateBook GT 14 with eGPU support.
The HUAWEI MateBook GT 14 has a sleek build and a distinct design on the back with large grills for cooling and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 and an HDMI 2.1 port in the middle. The left side has the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and Thunderbolt 4, while the right has the SD card reader.
There are three CPUs to choose from: Intel Ultra 5 125H, Ultra 7 155H, and Ultra 9 185H. You can also get it with 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 1TB or 2TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage.
All models come with Intel graphics. But if you want a real gaming performance, you can get HUAWEI’s first eGPU sold separately. It’s called the Hi GT Cube and has an AMD Radeon RX7600M XT inside with 8GB GDDR6 and can also charge the laptop. Oh, and as per the website, the eGPU is apparently from Wiko.
For the display, we have a 14.2-inch OLED touchscreen with a 2880 x 1920 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate and 1000-nit of peak brightness. It should be enough for gaming and content creation with its 95% Adobe RGB coverage, 100% DCI-P3 and sRGB, and Delta-E < 1 calibration.
Other features include a 70Wh battery, a 140W charging adapter, and two speakers.
The HUAWEI MateBook GT 14 is now listed in China with a price of CNY7,499 (~Php60,200) for the Ultra 5/16GB/1TB model, CNY8,199 (~Php65,800) for the Ultra 5/32GB/1TB, CNY9,199 (~Php73,900) for the Ultra 7/32GB/1TB, and CNY10,999 (~Php88,300) for the Ultra 9/32GB/2TB. The Hi GT Cube eGPU retails for CNY3,999 (~Php32,100). Launch details in countries like the Philippines haven’t been announced.
