Graduating from concept status, the first market-ready laptop with a rollable display has made its official debut at CES 2025, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 sports a 14-inch OLED display. But if you need extra vertical screen real estate, it rolls up to give you a 16.7-inch display with a press of a button or via a hand gesture.
Lenovo pointed out a couple of use cases for having such a display. The taller screen is great for writing and reading documents, and coding, lets you multitask better by monitoring two windows at once, and more.
It’s also apparently good for your posture so you don’t slouch when using the laptop. But obviously, this wasn’t designed for running games in full screen, but streamers would appreciate the extra space for monitoring chats.
Apart from the unique display, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 also has pretty beefy hardware inside. It can be powered by up to a 2nd-gen Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and Intel Arc Xe2 graphics.
It also comes with a 66Whr battery with 65W USB-C GaN nano adapter, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, the latest WiFi 7 standard, Bluetooth 5.4, and may also receive a MIL-STD-810H certification once tests are done.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 will be available starting June 2025 with an expected starting price of USD2,539 (~Php148,400).
