Xiaomi has announced the second-generation of its Redmi G laptop series. It appears to remain true to its commitment by offering impressive gaming specs with a budget-friendly price.
The Redmi G 2021 gaming laptops come in two models: one powered by the 10th gen hexa-core Intel Core i5-11260H processor and the other by the octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H. The former model comes with GeForce RTX 3050 graphics while the latter has RTX 3060. Both offer up to 4.4 GHz clock speed, 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM. Last year, the first-gen Redmi G variants only offered Intel processors.

Also common in the two models are the backlit keyboard, WiFi 6 support, DTS:X Ultra 3D audio, and a 16.1-inch display with 144Hz refresh rate. Should a game end up too taxing for the hardware, a 72Hz mode is available. Xiaomi’s digital assistant, Xiao AI, also comes preinstalled for voice-activated device controls.
The Intel model is already available for sale in China with a CNY 5,699 (approx. ₱44,330) price tag. The AMD model will go on sale on September 28 for CNY 6,999 (~₱54,440). At such prices, the Redmi G 2021 clearly undercuts similarly specced gaming laptops, such as the Lenovo Legion 5.
