Cherry Mobile continues its relentless assault on the Philippine market, releasing smartphone after smartphone, mostly to the delight of budget-minded consumers. Shortly after announcing the Flare X and Cubix Cube, it seems the local phone brand is looking to launch another affordable smartphone, the Cherry Mobile Omega 3. While the Omega 3 hasn’t been officially announced yet, the phone was leaked thanks to a brochure that has started making the rounds online.

The specs may not make it a world-beater, but the Omega 3 is still a reasonably good smartphone. You’re getting a 5.5 inch IPS display, 1.4GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In addition, you also get a 13mp BSI rear-facing autofocus camera, as well as a 5mp shooter on the front for taking selfies. And with the price revealed to be just Php5,499, it’s even more affordable than the Cosmos One.

Of course, not everything has been revealed yet. For one, the actual SoC hasn’t been identified, although it’s likely to be the MT6592M based on the clock speed and Mali 450 GPU. There’s also the question of battery life, since the capacity wasn’t revealed either. Hopefully, the rest of the specs and more details about availability will be revealed soon. In the meantime, we’ll just have to hold out for more information on the Cherry Mobile Omega 3.
