The Barbie craze is never over. After months of teasing, technology company HMD has announced the newest Barbie-themed flip phone. The device is just a rehashed Nokia 2660 Flip except that you can game with it. It also comes with changes and improvements in specs and looks.
In partnership with Mattel and HMD, the Barbie-themed phone comes in a stunning pink color. It has a reflective mirror in the lid that serves as a mirror and a digital clock in the middle. Once flipped, you get a 2.8-inch display and a built-in backlit keyboard. There are interesting Barbie details here such as the huge Barbie logo at the back of the body and a palm tree icon for number 7.

Since this is not a smartphone, HMD Barbie Phone uses a Qualcomm 215 chipset, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and also supports a microSD card of up to 32GB. It also comes with a 1,430mAh battery that according to HMD, can last up to 3.8 hours in 4G or 6.3 hours in 3G. It also has a 5-megapixel camera with a built-in flash.
The Barbie flip may be a basic phone but it is far from basic. The whole package includes all Barbie-themed accessories such as a beaded wrist strap, different battery covers, and multiple stick-on gems.
The HMD Barbie Phone will be available in the US in October for USD129. There is no information yet if this will be available in the Philippines.
