Lenovo’s mid-range smartphone that was first unveiled in CES 2014 is now for sale in the Philippines. For only Php6,499, the Lenovo A859 offers a “big HD experience for a smaller price.”
To recap, the Lenovo A859‘s key features include a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, 5-inch IPS HD display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2250mAh Li-Po battery, and dual SIM capability. It also has 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, and microSD support up to 32GB.
Preloaded apps include Kingsoft Office, Route 66 Navi + Maps, Evernote, Go Input Suite, AccuWeather, and several social networking apps.
The Lenovo A859 is now available at accredited dealers nationwide. We first estimated the price to be somewhere close to $220, but Lenovo Philippines surprised us with a more attractive price that’s only around $146 in today’s exchange.
Update (April 2, 2014):Â It looks like Lenovo Mobile Philippines has deleted its Facebook promotional image of this phone (which mentioned the Php6,499 price). We’ll update this post once we receive new information.
Update (April 3): The price is around Php11,000.
