LG announced an entry level version of their LG G Pro phablet, the unimaginatively named LG Pro Lite. The “Lite” in the name means that it’s light on features, as it still sports a 5.5″ screen. Other specs include a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera complemented by a 1.3-megapixel front camera.
It’s a dual-SIM variant and it’ll come with a dedicated Hot Key for easier switching between SIM cards. The LG G Pro Lite also comes with the new software features that other recent models have, such as KnockON, QuickMemo, and QSlide. What’s really underwhelming, though, is the 5.5″ screens paltry resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. That is absolutely appalling for such a big screen, IMHO. With a lot of our budget local phones having higher resolution and better processor, I wonder how this abomination will compete. What’s good, though, is that LG didn’t skimp on the battery, giving us 3140mAh, a rarity anmong entry level phones.
It’s set to debut first in Latin America this month, with Asia, Russia, China, India and the Middle East soon to follow. No price was set in the announcement, though.
