As foldable smartphones continue to evolve after more than six years in the market, the industry anticipates the rise of tri-fold devices as the next major innovation. Several brands, including TECNO and HUAWEI, have already teased their tri-fold concepts. Now, OPPO has joined the race, unveiling its own tri-fold smartphone concept.
OPPO Find Series Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, recently shared a render of the new tri-fold device for the world to see. The image revealed a smartphone with an almost bezel-less main display, two hinge elements, and faux leather back panel. But it looks like it was posted by mistake, as the image has been deleted shortly after.
Based on the render, the OPPO’s tri-fold smartphone features a taskbar and bigger than usual widgets, probably running a future version of OPPO’s ColorOS. However, specific hardware details remain undisclosed at this time.
Back in Q1 2024, there were reports suggesting that OPPO and vivo might exit the foldable smartphone game. OPPO later dismissed these claims, affirming its commitment to developing new foldable technology.
