The Android 4.4 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S4 has started rolling out, just days before the official unveiling of the next flagship, the Galaxy S5.

The update was first leaked last month and introduced minor interface changes and better general performance. Some countries will obtain the update first before others, so Galaxy S4 owners need not worry if an update notification hasn’t arrived on their device yet. Carrier-issued devices may also be delayed in receiving the update.

Last month, Samsung also rolled out Android 4.4 KitKat to its flagship Galaxy Note 3 phablet. Other Galaxy devices will be receiving KitKat as well.

        1. It should arrive within a couple of weeks. You can manually check for updates and install them directly on your phone by going to its settings.

    1. Via OTA no it won’t erase your apps, Via Odin yes it’ll earase your apps/sms/ and internal so better have a backup
