In a recent press release, Samsung has announced a number of Galaxy devices that are confirmed to receive an official update to Android 4.4 KitKat. See if your Samsung smartphone or tablet is included in this list.
To recap, Android 4.4 KitKat introduces several new features that Samsung thinks will enrich the Galaxy experience. Features include the UI-enhancing Project Svelte, SMS integration with Google Hangouts, immersive full-screen mode, better multitasking, and many more.

As seen in the list above, Samsung obviously has made its high-end device portfolio a priority over others. Nevertheless, the list does show the company’s commitment to keep many devices up to date. As such, the Light and the Mega smartphones have also been blessed to receive a software upgrade.
Apart from listing the confirmed devices, Samsung has not specified the exact dates on when it will roll out Android 4.4 KitKat to its devices. The company only mentioned updates being available depending on carrier and product, with ETA possibly going on for months.
