Samsung has refreshed its topnotch Tab S line with two new additions: the 8-inch and 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 tablets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is powered by the company’s homegrown Exynos processor. It offers 3GB of RAM and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz modifications. Notable features of the tablet include a built-in fingerprint scanner, a multitasking feature for running two apps in splitscreen mode and streamlined storage structure.
With a 5.6mm profile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the company’s thinnest tablet yet. It’s fast and capable enough to run the most demanding of games efficiently. For workaholics, the tablet comes preloaded with Microsoft Office. Depending on the market, this productivity suite may include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

The 8-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 more or less have the same specs as those in the list above, save for a couple of things. Obviously, the screen is smaller but retains the QXGA resolution. It’s smaller and lighter, but it has the same ultra-thin profile. It has a smaller battery capacity at 4000mAh.
Besides the differences in screen size, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 further varies according to storage option (32GB or 64GB) and data connectivity (Wi-Fi only or with 4G LTE). The tablets are scheduled to go on sale in August. According to reports, the price starts at 399 euros (approx. Php19,550) and goes as high as 569 euros (Php27,890).
