Instagram is reportedly working on a new feature that would allow users to publish content that’s only accessible by paying fans and followers.
Said to be called IG Exclusive Stories, these are user content behind a paywall that only subscribing members can view. Apparently, taking screenshots will also be disabled when these contents are displayed, although they can be placed on a Highlight section of the app as some sort of preview for prospective paid followers.

Rumors began when mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi posted on Twitter screenshots of Instagram’s upcoming feature. Instagram itself has confirmed the veracity of the screenshots, stating that they were taken from an internal prototype that has yet to be released for public testing. The company however didn’t indicate if the feature will actually be released.
Exclusive Stories seems to be Instagram’s take on the Super Follow feature by Twitter, which is essentially that platform’s feature for charging users to view additional content.
