The latest report from IDC listed the brands that shipped the most tablets globally in the second quarter of 2025.
More importantly, IDC reported that the global tablet shipments grew by 13% during the months between April and June, with a total of 38.3 million units.
The increase, as per IDC, was mainly because of replacement cycles, new devices coming out, and state subsidies in China. Many brands also stockpiled inventory as they anticipate tariffs.

That said, the pack is led by Apple as it shipped 12.7 million iPads during the said quarter, owning 33% of the market share. The iPad 2025 model was said to be the top-seller, experiencing a 2.4% year-over-year growth.
Samsung came in second with 7.2 million units or 18.7% market share. The Latin American projects contributed a lot to those good numbers, as well as Samsung’s aggressive push in Europe and the Middle East.
Lenovo stayed in the third spot and experienced a 25% YoY growth with 3.1 million units, thanks to its push on the Tab M series and the China subsidies that pushed the growth of the Y700 and Xiaoxin Pad Pro.
Amazon managed to bounce back, taking the fourth spot. Their growth can be attributed to the timing of Prime Day, which was right before the next big tariff announcement that eventually didn’t happen.
Xiaomi wrapped the list by taking the fifth spot. The Xiaomi Pad 7 and Redmi Pad SE were the key drivers in volume.
