The Philippine movie theater chain SM Cinema recently teased the upcoming release of a new animated film with an intriguing orange poster. The image, featuring a crow, a cat, and a trash can, was accompanied by a caption hinting at an imminent game and asking viewers if they’re ready for the action.
This announcement has led fans to speculate that the film in question is “Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle.” This particular narrative focuses on an intense National High Inter High tournament volleyball match between Karasuno High School, represented by a crow, and Nekoma High School, symbolized by a cat.

A couple of days ago, Medialink confirmed plans to bring this eagerly anticipated movie to Southeast Asian audiences, including those in the Philippines, starting in April. The film initially premiered in Japan on February 16.
The “Haikyuu” franchise itself originates from a manga created by Haruichi Furudate, which concluded in July 2020. Its anime adaptation first hit television screens in 2014 and has since garnered a dedicated fanbase for its dynamic portrayal of high school volleyball competitions.
Based on the SM Cinema teaser, it looks like Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle will hit PH cinemas on April 25, 2024.
