The ever-popular anime franchise, One Piece, has got a new movie, and it will be hitting Philippine theaters soon.
UPDATE: SM Cinema revealed in a Facebook post that fan screening will happen on September 28. Tickets will go on sale at 2PM today, August 13.
In a post via the ODEX Philippines’ official Facebook page, it announced the anime’s latest movie iteration—One Piece Film: Red—to come to “SM Cinema this September”.
The exact date is not concrete as of the time of the pronouncement. But it’s more than sufficient in giving anticipating fans a window as to when the animated moving picture will cater to the Filipino fans.

As a franchise, One Piece has already spawned numerous films, making One Piece Film: Red its fifteenth entry. The fourteenth entry was launched back in 2019, with the launch of One Piece: Stampede.
As a brief overview, the new movie revolves around the Straw Hat Crew as they venture to the concert of Uta, a beloved singer in the anime. But it all takes an interesting turn when the said singer happens to be the daughter of Shanks.
Before the official Philippine release of One Piece: Film Red, Japan, One Piece’s country of origin, is getting an earlier release on August 6, 2022—although some lucky fans managed to watch the movie sooner after seeing it as a premier show in Tokyo last July 22, 2022.
