A new report from London-based firm CoinJournal revealed that the Philippines ranks 8th in the world in terms of crypto owners. This is a testament to the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology among Filipino citizens. 

CoinJournal a London-based research firm reported that almost 7 million Filipinos had digital currency accounts, making the country rank eighth globally in terms of crypto ownership.

A total of 6.99 million Filipinos, equivalent to 6.13% of the population, were found to have a cryptocurrency account, according to the data. This puts the Philippines in the top 10 countries globally, alongside the United States, Vietnam, Pakistan, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Brazil, Thailand, and Indonesia.

CoinJournal’s Global Crypto Ownership Rankings ranked countries based on the number of crypto owners as a percentage of their population. The rankings revealed the countries with the highest proportions of crypto owners and the highest numbers of crypto owners around the world.

The US topped the list of countries in terms of cryptocurrency gains with $46.95 billion, followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and China.
