After a couple of weeks of teasing it on their Facebook page, we now have an official date of the ASUS Zenfone 4 launch.

Earlier this week, a post from ASUS’ community website ZenTalk, showed an invite to an event happening on August 19 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay. The thread also showed the teaser photos that ASUS published on their Facebook page.

The images have the phrases “Time to see MORE” and ‘Time to see more than ONE”, with a graphic that’s pointing to a possibility that the Zenfone 4 might have a dual-camera setup.

However, a more recent Facebook post shows an invite to a global press conference that’s happening in Taiwan on August 17. The post also unveiled the Zenfone 4’s Asia Pacific brand ambassador, Gong Yoo.

This lead to a bit of a confusion regarding the official launch date of the ASUS Zenfone 4. The dated Facebook post shows the brand ambassador holding a smartphone that’s perceived to be the ASUS Zenfone 4 itself.

This led us to believe that August 17 is quite possibly the day that the Taiwanese company will unveil its latest flagship. On the other hand, the event happening on August 19 in Pasay is just the official local launch in the Philippines.

Taking a closer look at the device being held by Gong Yoo, it looks like the ASUS Zenfone 4 would indeed feature a dual-camera setup at the back. This is in-sync with the camera tech found on the initially released Zenfone 4 Max which has a secondary wide-angle camera at the back.

Also, the image shows a device with an all-metal back. It looks like ASUS retained the circular pattern in the back, as seen on its predecessor — the Zenfone 3.

Furthermore, there were also rumors circulating regarding a Zenfone 4 Pro variant. It’s said to run on a Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB of RAM. It is also expected to sport a large and sharp 5.7-inch Quad HD display — possibly the sharpest display on any Zenfone device ever.

But other than those few bits and pieces, that’s all we know so far. We’ll keep our eyes peeled on the upcoming events so stay tuned.
