Blackview BL6000

If you haven’t heard of Blackview, they are a Hong Kong-based smartphone brand known for making rugged smartphones. Today, they enter the spotlight by releasing the BL8000, the first rugged smartphone to feature the latest Dimensity 1200 processor.

Sadly, not a lot of details about the Blackview BL8000 has been revealed. Even the design is still under wraps. Still, the company was really proud that it’s one of the first to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor that they immediately pulled the trigger and confirm its existence.

Other than the processor and the fact that it has a generous 12GB of RAM, not many details are known about this device.

Albeit, a couple of vague statements give us a hint of what features the smartphone will have. As per the company, it will have “reliable connectivity and multi-touch boost touchscreen responsiveness.”

This could mean that the BL8000 will have 5G connectivity and, at least, a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate—a pretty usual set of features you can expect on a 2021 smartphone.

Being a rugged phone, Blackview said that it would allow skiers, snowboarders, and other people who live an active lifestyle to use 5G connectivity in remote areas. But being 5G coverage still very limited, we doubt you can get 5G signal in mountains and other obscure locations.

Other than the specs, design, and price, the company is yet to announce the release date for the Blackview BL8000. We’ll give you the updates once they are available. So stay tuned for that.
