Realme is expected to enter the laptop segment this 2021.
The report came out after Realme CEO Madhav Sheth hints at entering new categories this year, specifically the laptop business. As per a tipster named Mukul Sharma, the first Realme laptop may come out sometime in June if everything goes as planned.
Creating a laptop, especially for a two-year-old brand, is not that easy. Chances are, the first Realme laptop would be made by an ODM (original design manufacturer) — a company that designs and manufactures products for other companies to slap their brand on.
With this development, Realme clearly wants to be at the top of the food chain. It aims to compete with giant Chinese brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, and Redmi, which has entered the PC market after making it big in the smartphone business.
Realme’s big ambitions for 2021 comes after they disrupted the tech market in 2020 when it released a diversity of new products. There’s the Buds Air Pro for ANC on a budget, the cheap but well-designed Watch S, and they even launched a smart security camera, electric toothbrush, smart scale, and a luggage.
