DJI has announced a follow-up to its action camera line. The DJI Osmo Action 4 is an appreciated refresh as it’s a refinement to an already interesting device that is its predecessor.
It may look the same on the surface, but the new DJI Osmo Action 4 has a couple of substantial upgrades underneath. One of them is the significantly bigger sensor, which is now 1/1.3-inch in size (from 1/1.7 inches). This ups the pixel size to 2.4µm from 1.6µm.

It uses the same ultra-wide lens with a 155-degree field-of-view with an f/2.8 aperture. As they say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Also, it still records 4K videos at 120fps and up to 130Mbps. For the best quality, there’s a 10-bit D-Log M format that you can shoot in.
DJI has also improved the stabilization on the Osmo Action 4 with the RockSteady 3.0 Plus and 360-degree HoizonSteady. It now also records gyroscope data so you can have finer stabilization controls when editing on a PC.

Another new feature is the color temperature sensor, which is cleverly hidden in the “O” letter in the “Action 4” logo beneath the large lens.
Next to the said enormous lens is a 1.4-inch 320 x 320-pixel touch screen so you can frame your shots better in selfie mode. A much bigger 2.25-inch 640 x 230 resolution toch display is on the back.

The whole camera can now be taken deeper underwater at 59 feet (from 52 feet). You can take it even deeper at 197 feet using a special case. The battery can do up to 2.5 hours of video recording.
You can get the DJI Osmo Action 4 in different DJI concept stores across the Philippines for a price of Php22,890 for the Standard Package and Php28,890 for the Adventure Combo that comes with two extra batteries, a battery case, and a 5-feet extension rod/selfie stick.
