It has been nearly a year since the introduction of the EOS M3, perhaps the finest mirrorless camera of Canon in a while. Now they’re introducing the Canon EOS M5, a new flagship mirrorless camera.

Today its streamlined set is expanding with the Canon EOS M5, a high-end mirrorless camera with a touch of Digital SLR feel to it. Of course, this is not entirely a product that will replace the DSLR but it does borrow several features from Canon’s 80D. Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus helps in accurately tracking objects while in video mode. The EOS M5 will also get the same 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor and 100-25,600 ISO.

Additionally, the Canon EOS M5 sports the newest processor from Canon, Digic 7 processor. It can capture constant 7fps shooting in addition to BlueTooth, NFC and Wi-Fi for partnering with devices like smartphones and tablets. There’s also a 3.2-inch touch screen on the rear, as well as a high-res electronic viewfinder.

Although we’ll need to wait and observe overall, Canon’s latest mirrorless camera promises to be among the best in the marketplace. The EOS M5 may reach shops “early” Nov for $980 , or $120 more for a package with a 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens.

It’s worth mentioning that this is an EF-M mount camera, but you can purchase an adaptor individually to use it with the extensive variety of Canon EF lenses.
