DJI Mavic Air - Specs, Price, Features

DJI, the leading drone manufacturer currently around, has released yet another product. The DJI Mavic Air, as the company claims, will be both ultra-portable and powerful.

The DJI Mavic Air is hailed as the love child of the Mavic Pro and the Spark. It is said to feature almost as much power as the Mavic Pro has, all crammed inside the small body of a Spark.

It uses a 1/2.3-inch sensor that can take 12-megapixel pictures, or shoot 4k videos with a 24fps/30fps frame rate. Covering the sensor is a 24mm wide-angle f/2.8 lens.

The camera is held by a 3-axis gimbal, so rest assured that your video footages won’t look shaky.

You can fly the Mavic Air at a top speed of 42.5mph and it can take on up to 22mph of wind. The flight time is rated at around 21 minutes, while the redesigned antenna remote has a range of 2.5mi.

DJI also claims that their new drone has an improved ventilation system to prevent overheating.

With the Mavic Air, you’re also getting all the features that their other drones have, plus some more. The obstacle-avoidance software has been greatly improved, the gesture controls have been polished, and there are the new panorama and tiny planet shooting modes.

The DJI Mavic Air will be available in Onyx Black, Arctic White, and Flame Red. The base model will retail for a price of USD799 (around Php40,600), while the Fly Combo (extra batteries, extra propellers, charging hub, power bank adaptor, travel bag) will be available for USD999 (around Php50,700).
