There had been rumors circulating that Lenovo’s Legion gaming phone business has been shut down. Well, Lenovo’s confirmation puts all the speculations at rest.
Last week, a social media user believed to be a Lenovo employee posted a comment saying that the company chose to completely shut down the Legion gaming phone business.
A report from Android Authority confirmed the news after they reached out to Lenovo for a comment. A company spokesperson said that they did actually end its Legion gaming phone business.
The spokesperson said that they are discontinuing the mobile gaming line as “part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation.”
It looks like the gaming phone industry is on the rocks recently. Other than Legion gaming phone business entirely shutting down, rumor has it that Xiaomi is also having a tough time with its Black Shark line and laid off hundreds of its employees.
But that doesn’t seem to be the case for ASUS, who’s set to launch the ROG Phone 7 this April.
