Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg just announced the new Meta Quest 3 virtual and mixed reality headset, just a few days before Apple is expected to unveil a similar product at WWDC 2023.
The new Meta Quest 3 will have a higher resolution compared to the Quest 2 and is powered by a next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that the company claims offers twice the graphics performance from the previous Snapdragon GPU found on its predecessor.

It will also boast full-color passthrough for high-resolution color mixed reality use cases. To make it lighter and more portable, the headset comes with a 40% slimmer optic profile and an overhauled Touch Plus controller design.
The new system will no longer require outer tracking rings so the controller will feel “like a more natural extension of your hands”. Hand-tracking support is also included.
TrueTouch haptics is also included. It will also work with Touch Pro controllers, which are sold separately. The best part is, that the Quest 3 will work with over 500 VR games, apps, and experiences that were available in Quest 2.
The new Meta Quest 3 will be available in the United States for a price of USD499.99 (~Php27,900).
