UPDATE: @miuirom has confirmed it and it will happen on May 19 at 8PM, Philippine Standard Time (PST).
The date was teased by MIUI on Twitter in the form of a math puzzle, which is easy enough to solve and get the final answer. It’s 19, of course. Per MIUI’s official Twitter account, the deciphered date is to be remembered as an important day.
There’s no reason to think that this isn’t the expected global launch in which Xiaomi will unveil its rollout schedule for global markets. MIUI 12 already had its first rollout in China.
MIUI 12 is Xiaomi’s latest OS based on Android 10. It features a revamped UI, dark mode improvements, new animations, and security and privacy refinements. A number of Xiaomi and Redmi devices will be able to upgrade to the latest MIUI, with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro included in the first batch to get the upgrade.
