HMD has launched the Nokia 3310 in the Philippines. The device, despite being a thing of the past, was highly anticipated by the Filipinos.
The new Nokia 3310, as you remember it, is still a dumbphone. It doesn’t hold all the bells and whistles that you’ll get on even the most basic of a smartphone, yet, people are still going crazy about it.
The fact is, it is not about the high-tech features this time. It is getting a lot of attention due to the nostalgia it brings — the hype from the “fans” — and quite possibly, its adorable looks.

The 3310 of 2017 looks like the chubby version of the 3310 from the early 2000’s. HMD also treated it with bright, and funky new color variants.
Other than the refreshed design, the revived handset now has a 2.4-inch colored display. There’s also a 16GB storage to store your music to be played on its MP3 Player. You can also opt for either a wired headset via its 3.5mm headphone jack, or go wireless with its Bluetooth 3.0 antenna.
You can now also browse the web with the new handset thanks to its 2G connectivity. It can also take pictures with a 2-megapixel camera.
As per HMD Global, the new Nokia 3310 will be sold for Php2,490. Judging whether the price is justifiable will depend on how much do you want to own a ‘legacy’ smartphone. But if practicality is your priority, there are already several smartphone options out there that have the same price or even cheaper.
