Consumer electronics company OPPO has recently announced its enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) strategy at the OPPO AI Tech Summit during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. This is to better position itself as a market leader in AI experiences by delivering continuous innovation on AI solutions to its customers.
“Smartphones are not just a vehicle for AI–they are the engines that power the best possible AI experiences. As a global smartphone leader, OPPO is driving in-house innovation and open collaboration with industry partners to bring our users these unparalleled AI experiences,” said Billy Zhang, President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Services at OPPO.
With the fast-evolving AI application environment, OPPO looks to advance its AI experience from functional-level to system-level AI. This means that OPPO will have a greater extent of its integration, functionality, and security required on devices.
OPPO collaborates with Google
The phone manufacturer also announced the further integration of Google AI experiences across its smartphones. Google Gemini will also work with native OPPO apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

OPPO is also implementing a Private Computing Cloud (PCC) built with Confidential Computing from Google Cloud. This ensures security and privacy when accessing these deeply embedded AI features. In addition, the OPPO PCC will be integrated with AI Recording Summary and AI features, including AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary.
“We are excited to collaborate with OPPO to shape the future of mobile AI by bringing together Google technologies with OPPO’s exceptional hardware and software,” said Matt Waldbusser, Managing Director for Global Solution and Consumer AI, Google Cloud.
OPPO’s extensive AI R&D
OPPO said they are focusing on three core areas for its latest AI development strategy: AI Productivity, AI Creativity, and AI Imagining, which will deliver meaningful AI features for users’ daily lives.
These three AI pillars will underlie OPPO’s comprehensive AI R&D strategy covering the entire AI ecosystem – from chips and devices to cloud.
OPPO also announced that it is working closely with Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek to optimize chips for high efficiency and real-time AI processing.

“The partnership between MediaTek and OPPO is set to unlock new opportunities in AI. From AI-enhanced photography to next-generation gaming experiences, from intelligent security solutions to seamless device connectivity, the possibilities are limitless,” said Will Chen, Deputy General Manager of the Wireless Business Group at MediaTek.
OPPO has worked on improving its devices and cloud integration to improve data security protection systems. OPPO devices will also have a significant boost in their AI capabilities performance through AI technologies like Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), Parallel Decoding Solution, and Mixture of Experts (MoE).
Reaching more users with more features
Since reaching its 50 million users goal last year, OPPO aims to double that number to 100 million users by the end of this year.
OPPO also aims to meet users’ growing demand, so they intend to deliver an average of one new AI update per month. New features like AI Search and Google Gemini integration are coming soon to the OPPO Find N5.
Future AI innovations coming to OPPO devices include AI Call Translator, which can interpret calls in multiple languages in real time, and AI VoiceScribe, which can perform multi-use voice summarization from various sources, such as voice calls and meetings.
In addition to the OPPO AI Tech Summit, leading partners such as Google, MediaTek, and Qualcomm showcased OPPO AI features and AI phones, including the Find N5, Reno13 series, and Find X8 series, during the MWC 2025.
