OPPO is set to launch its very own system-on-a-chip (SoC) in 2024.
Smartphone brands making their own chipsets can actually benefit the users. As you know, Apple uses its own CPUs for its iPhones to give them better control as they can tailor both the hardware and software for a better user experience.
OPPO already has its own processor with the MariSilion X NPU and MariSilicon Y for connectivity. After dipping their toes, OPPO is ready to release a full mobile chipset.

A MediaTek executive revealed that OPPO plans on releasing its true chipset to keep its competitive edge. In fact, it’s said that the design for the OPPO chipset is already complete and ready for production.
The said chipset is expected to be available in 2024.
Earlier reports said that OPPO already invested about CNY10 billion (~Php79.9 billion) to build IC design centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and other parts of China.
