The Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) is accepting proposals from universities and institutions in need of funds for building or modernizing their research and development laboratories.

Through its Institution Development Program (IDP), the PCIEERD aims to enable or improve research capabilities of public and private educational institutions. These institutions can benefit from the program to not only establish their research labs but also purchase equipment, according to PCIEERD Executive Director Dr. Enrico C. Paringit.

The program’s latest call for proposals will continue until the end of the month, with submissions to be accepted starting from June 16 until July 15. Each proposal is limited to up to Php5,000,000 and should be intended for research aligned with the program’s priority areas, such as aerospace engineering and renewable energy. Paringit will approve eight of these proposals after a 40-day evaluation process.

In the six years that it has been running, the IDP helped establish or upgrade 37 laboratories for an overall amount of Php194 million.
