Google has announced that it’s launching a Project Zero hacking contest for the Nexus smartphones.
Google has been giving away bounties for bug hunters for a while now. But this time, they’re doing a much larger vulnerability rewards program.
Project Zero Prize Security contest aims to “find a vulnerability or bug chain that achieves remote code execution on multiple Android devices knowing only the devices’ phone number and email address.” Now that’s probably quite a hard feat, but for those really talented individuals, it’s a thrilling challenge.
Successful submissions will be awarded the following:
- First prize:$200,000 USD
- Second prize: $100,000 USD
- Third prize: At least $50,000 USD
All winning participants will also be given the chance to do a technical report and present their work in the official Google Project Zero blog.
