The Realme Pad is the company’s first tablet. Being the sole member of a brand new line, you’d think that the company will give all-out support for this product, but apparently not.

In the FAQ of its community forum, a Realme representative confirmed that the Realme Pad will not get major OS updates in the future as its sole focus is on smartphones.

This means that the Realme Pad, which only came out back in September, will not get the latest Android 12 update. But it did confirm that it will receive security and performance updates “throughout its software lifecycle.”

No explanation was given, but it looks like the aging Helio G80 processor — which has limited support for the latest Android 12 update — may be the culprit.

For a quick recap, the Realme Pad features a large 10.5-inch FHD+ IPS screen, 8-megapixel cameras in front and back, four speakers, USB Type-C connectivity, and a 7,100mAh battery with 18W charging. The tablet is available in the Philippines for a starting price of Php10,990. You can check our full review here.
