The successor to the Galaxy S series has been running around the rumor mill for a couple of months now since they are ripe for an upgrade. Now, Samsung has finally confirmed the release date for its next flagship line.

In a post on its social media pages, Samsung confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will happen on January 18, 2023, at 2 AM Philippine time. That’s earlier than its predecessor‘s release, which was in February 2023.

The teaser highlights the brand’s upcoming “Galaxy AI” technology, which should be one of the key features of the latest Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

As to what to expect from these devices, leaked promo materials reveal that the Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will come with a special Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip, 12GB RAM, 45W fast charging, and 15W wireless charging. They will also have QHD+ 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays, with the Ultra being slightly larger at 6.8 inches.

Meanwhile, the vanilla Galaxy S24 will have the Qualcomm chip only in the US and Canada, while the international market will receive the Exynos 2400. It also has a slower 25W charging and lower 8GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, the Ultra has a much sharper 200-megapixel main shooter, 50-megapixel with 5x telephoto, 10-megapixel with 3x telephoto for portraits, and the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide.

We shall have the official details and renders on the 18th, so stay tuned for that.
