Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have a confirmed date on when will it arrive. What we’re talking about is the long-overdue Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Way back in August of last year, a list of Samsung smartphones to be updated with Android 8.0 Oreo surfaced online. One year later, the supposed software upgrade never reached the smartphones listed.

This development came from a Turkish website which is said to be run by Samsung. As per the posting, both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Android Oreo updates will be released on May 18.

The website also said that the 2017 editions of the Galaxy A7, A5, and A3 will follow suit as their respective Android Oreo updates will roll out on June 1.

But due to different models and some regional differences, the stated release date might not translate to a global rollout. However, since an update is already present in the said country, we can expect it to arrive in other countries in the following weeks.

Hopefully, Samsung will follow through and provide the Android 8.0 Oreo update the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users deserve.
