It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Shopee Philippines just announced that they will now be accepting credit cards when you shop through their mobile app.
This is a good news to a lot of avid online shoppers who are into cashless payments. Or for those who want to pay for their orders right away, and don’t have to worry if they have cash on hand once the delivery service arrives.
Shopee will be accepting credit cards from major banks. This includes BPI, PSBank, Robinsons Bank, Maybank, and Citi. So if you’re a credit card holder from any of this bank, you’re all good to go.
Keying your credit card details is fairly easy. Just go on to the Me tab, open the Account Settings, and right below the My Address you’d find the Bank Accounts / Cards. Tap the Add New Credit Card and from there you can just type in your credit card details.
After that, you’re pretty much done. After you’ve finished shopping, just choose your credit card as a payment option upon check out. Shopee will then send you a one-time password via text message just for verification.
As a bonus, you can enjoy up to 15% off when you use your credit card when you purchase something on Shopee’s new GadgetZone section. The online mall will also be having a “Bank of Day” promotions starting August 20. Both are ending on September 8.
