Sony is seeking to expand its line of business as it enters the drone market, giving life to a new brand called Airpeak. Little is yet known about the product, creating a bit of mystery, but the company is said to be keen on making a launch next Spring.

Through a press release, Sony claims that its drive to join the growing market boils down to the “recent proliferation” of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that inevitably influenced both the creatives and the industry.

With Da-Jiang Innovations (DJI) being the dominating brand in the drone space, Sony will be put up in a tough competition that could see it pushing the envelope to appeal to the market.

One way the Japanese company is planning on doing just that is through the incorporation of “AI robotics” with the flying drone, subsequently pushing boundaries on its “already smart” capabilities.
