After ages, the Sony XA and XA Ultra gets Android Nougat update.
The release comes a few weeks after Android O, the successor to Nougat, was announced. Fragmentation has always been the problem with Android devices, but that mess is a subject for a different discussion. For now, we’re just glad that some users finally gets the latest taste of Android.
The Android 7.0 update inside the firmware number 33.3.A.0.127 is now available to five Xperia XA variants such as the F3111, F3113, F3115, F3112, and the F3116. On the other hand, the XA Ultra F3211 and F3212 models will enjoy the update via the 36.1.A.0.179 firmware.
With the Android Nougat update, Sony XA and XA Ultra users can enjoy new features like better task and notification management, quick app switching and multi-window support, Google Assistant support and much more.
Updating the Sony XA and XA Ultra is fairly easy. If your device didn’t notify you, you can check it manually on the settings menu. You can also use the Xperia Companion software for PC or Mac.
