Tidal has introduced a free tier of its music service in an attempt to lure more people in.
As per the company, those who will avail of the Tidal free music tier can access its entire music catalog and playlists, but, with “limited interruptions.”
It’s said that the tier’s streaming quality will not be more than 160kbps. A big disadvantage since Tidal is actually known for its HiFi music streaming.

Meanwhile, Tidal’s paid subscription is getting improvements. For one, its USD10/mo plan will now get lossless and high-resolution music streaming.
Moreover, the Tidal HiFi plan will get a bump up in music quality, which is now up to 1411kbps. Plus, support for offline play, and access to My Activity and Tidal Connect.
But if you really care for your music that much, then you might want to avail the new HiFi Plus, which the company claims can offer best-in-class immersive sound formats such as Sony 360 Audio and Dolby Atmos. Subscribers can also access the company’s Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) music.
Sadly, none of the said tiers are officially available in the Philippines. Alternatively, you can check out what Spotify and Apple Music have to offer.
