The second edition of the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge concluded with an electrifying Grand Finals at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. This event brought together the top 3×3 basketball talent from Metro Manila, offering spectators intense action and unforgettable highlights.
CHAMPIONS: Adamson and Army Altama
Adamson University claimed the men’s division title with a commanding 21-14 victory over Sports Flooring Kings. The winning team, composed of Renzo Competente, Matt Edding, Adel Manzon, and Cade Ronzone, displayed outstanding skill and teamwork to secure the championship.
In a nail-biting finish in the women’s division, Army Altama edged out New Zealand Creamery by only 1 point, finishing 19-18. The champions, featuring Nathalia Prado, Camille Sambile, Love Joy Sto. Domingo, and France May Cabinbin, showcased remarkable determination to win.
Both victorious teams were awarded Php30,000 in cash, vivo Y28 smartphones, medals, and trophy. The vivo Y28 comes with a massive 6,000mAh all-day battery, good performance, as well as water and dust resistance.
Strong performances from first runners-up
The first runners-up in men’s and women’s divisions delivered performances that shocked the crowd and forced the champions to play at their best. New Zealand Creamery and Sports Flooring Kings pushed the athletes’ limits.
Each player from these teams received a brand-new vivo Y18 and medals, while the teams were given Php20,000 in cash and trophy. The vivo Y18 is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera that excels in capturing beautiful shots.
Acknowledging second and third runners-up
The competition remained fierce throughout the tournament, so all the participating teams in the finals deserve special recognition. Uratex Dream secured third place in the women’s division, while Enverga Wildcats achieved the same in the men’s division. Both teams were rewarded with Php15,000 in cash, vivo Y03 smartphones, and trophies.
Stay Groovie took fourth place in the men’s division, while RTU Lady Thunders did the same in the women’s department. These teams also walked away with vivo Y03 smartphones, medals, and trophies, to commend their efforts. The vivo Y03 is an entry-level smartphone that comes with 128GB storage, CoolTech Hyper Engine Gaming Technology, and Multi-Turbo 5.5.
PBA star appearances and Slam Dunk spectacle
An exciting Slam Dunk Competition judged by Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) stars Keith Datu, Jordan Bartlett, and Brandon Bates also made the fans roar. David Carlos emerged victorious with an impressive performance, outshining competitors Thomas Reed and Ashon Andrews.
