We have already seen the Mate 10 series late last year. For 2018, it is time for the Huawei P family to get updated. Although the company is yet to unveil the device, these leaked case renders has already got us both excited and a little worried about the upcoming smartphone.
Huawei will be skipping the MWC 2018, and instead, they will be waiting until March 27 to launch the new Huawei P20 series in an exclusive event in Paris. According to previous reports, the P20 family consists of three members — the P20, P20 Plus, and P20 Lite.
While the P20 is still not due until next month, a case render of the said smartphone has recently surfaced the internet. Since it is inside the case, it didn’t reveal much about the aesthetic details of the handset. However, it gave us a peak of some of its key characteristics.
For one, the Huawei P20 is going to have not one, not two, but three rear-facing cameras. The trio is placed in a vertical orientation with an LED flash at the bottom, which clearly mimics the iPhone X’s implementation.
Meanwhile, it’s not surprising that the P20 will also have an 18:9 FullView display. And if it will really follow the Mate 10 Pro’s footsteps, it could also use an OLED panel for better colors.
On the downside, it looks like the leaked cases doesn’t have a cutout for the headphone jack. The ones at the bottom are for the speakers and USB port, while the one at the top is not big enough for a 3.5mm headphone port. Instead, it could be for the noise-canceling mic or an IR blaster.
While we are excited about how the triple-camera system works, let’s just hope that the Huawei P20 does not neglect the headphone jack.
