We’re quite not sure how OPPO’s strategy works when they decided to release the OPPO F3 on a much later date than the OPPO F3 Plus. But one thing is for sure, it sure is working out for them.

And fast forward to 2017, after the OPPO F3 Plus was unveiled, the rumors regarding its smaller brother was already starting to boil. And now that OPPO officially announced that they will be unveiling the OPPO F3 on May 4, more and more details are now coming out of the bag.

OPPO has been constantly teasing its fans on Facebook regarding about the new device. For one, they’ve announced that it will have a 5.5-inch display that has an In-Cell Technology, and not IPS. But the use of a different technology was not made to cut costs. The said unconventional display tech can make the whole panel to have a narrow profile, thus, making the device lighter, and more spacious to house other components.

Other than the display, the upcoming OPPO F3 is also said to have a 3200mAh battery, an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will also have the same all-metal body like previous models. And of course, a dual selfie camera is in tow.

And if the words from multiple sources were true, then the list below could possibly be everything we might need to know about the device.

OPPO F3 Leaked Specs

  • Android 6 Marshmallow, ColorOS 3.1
  • Dual SIM, Hybrid
  • 5.5-inch FHD In-cell display, 1920 x 1080, ~401ppi
  • 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T 1.5GHz octa-core processor
  • Mali T860 GPU
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 128GB
  • 13-megapixel rear camera
  • 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel wide-angle front cameras

The use of a smaller display, an under-clocked processor, and a smaller battery are the real evidence that this is going to be a cheaper device than the F3 Plus. The OPPO F3 is rumored to be priced at Php16,990, which totally more economical than the Php23,990 price tag of its bigger brother.
