Third telco DITO Telecommunity passed the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) second technical audit.
The news was confirmed by DITO Telecommunity‘s parent company, DITO CME Holdings, in a filing to the Philippine Stocks Exchange this Tuesday.
It’s said that the NTC’s independent auditor was able to determine that DITO already has a 52.75% population coverage and offers 89.13Mbps minimum average speed for 4G and 853.96Mbps for 5G.
This commitment is part of the issuance of DITO’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity back in July 2019.
The third telco promised to cover 51.01% of the national population and offer 55Mbps of minimum average broadband speed in the second year of its commitment period.
DITO Telecommunity started its commercial service back in March. As of now, DITO is now available in a lot of locations across the Philippines, has support for most of the smartphones available in the market, and as of August, the brand was able to garner 2 million subscribers.
