Globe unleashes their first ever set of smartphones to carry their 4G LTE service in the Philippines. Don’t get too excited though because it will not be available nationwide yet. The devices that they will be launching are HTC One XL, Samsung Galaxy S3, Huawei Ascend P1, and ZTE T81. Interestingly, all of them are android phones – at least for now.
All of the smartphones mentioned above will be available through Globe’s postpaid plan 999 which nets you unlimited mobile surfing, consumable amount for calls and texts, lots of freebies, and a guarantee of superior customer service from Globe. Not bad for the price, eh?
“We are excited to offer our first-ever array of LTE-powered smartphone devices to our subscribers, thanks to our strong partnership with some of the world’s leading device manufacturers that allow us to bring this portfolio of smartphones exclusively to our subscribers, making the Philippines one of the few markets globally to introduce a wide range of LTE-capable handsets,” added Martha Sazon, Head of Globe Postpaid.
They also said that there will be more upcoming LTE phones for sure so that Filipinos can fully capitalize on the speed of their network (and its unlimited until January 31, 2012!). Globe claims that the speed of their LTE is 10x that of the current speed of 2G and 3G in the Philippines. With that, gaming and video streaming will definitely be improved by a mile. What do you think? Will you get one of these?
Globe said their LTE signal is currently available in areas like Makati, part of Muntilupa and limited areas in Taguig, QC. Unfortunately, Paranaque and Las Pinas are devoid of their LTE signal. Hopefully, in the coming years, LTE signal will be available nationwide.
may i ask if this 4G LTE is only available if you avail their plan? or you can just access the 4G LTE even without the plan?
