Globe is potentially contemplating on a deal in which it would divest its data centers.

Based on information from sources unnamed due to confidentiality, Bloomberg says that Globe has tapped the services of an adviser as it studies the potential sale of at least three of its data centers. Per its inquiry page, Globe has two data centers in Makati and one each at Cavite, Cebu, and Davao.

Globe so far remains undecided on the matter, according to Bloomberg. But if it does, the company could raise about $200 million from the deal. The news agency also claims that rival telco PLDT is reportedly mulling over the sale of its own data centers.

As for its own applications and data, the company announced in mid-December last year that it shifted its core infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). These include contact center operations, monitoring and security tools, and customer data analytics.
