Globe Telecom recently announced that it would be implementing mobile number portability for its customers and TM subscribers.

Starting April 21, Globe and TM subscribers can keep their numbers when changing subscriptions. However, it will only initially cover those who will switch from prepaid to postpaid and vice versa. As well as prepaid to prepaid within Globe and TM brands.

To avail of this latest service, subscribers shouldn’t have an existing financial obligation or overdue balance.

Users can apply for mobile number portability by going to a Globe physical store or logging in to their GlobeOne account.

Globe myBusiness customers can check if their eligible through the same GlobeOne app.

This new feature was created in compliance with the Republic Act 11202 or the Mobile Portability Act, which was signed into law in early 2019.

The three telco giants: Smart, Globe, and DITO, already signed an agreement that would allow users to keep their numbers when they switch between networks. Globe’s latest move is just the start as the full Mobile Portability implementation between networks will take effect on September 30.
