Telco giant PLDT announced that they have started to re-accelerate their network roll-out incorporating process improvements that will help facilitate business growth and make operations more efficient.

In a statement, PLDT FVP and Network Head Eric Santiago said that after a comprehensive review of their internal processes, they’ve decided to re-accelerate their network roll-out efforts.

“Capex guidance for 2023 is P80-85 billion and includes investments in capacity to support growing mobile traffic and to support demand for home broadband,” Santiago added.

Santiago also said that they stay focused to achieve the brand’s vision, which has been summarized with the acronym “CIA” which stands for Cloudified, Intelligent, and Automated.

By the end of March 2023, the telco giant was able to expand its fiber footprint, which now totals 1.1 million kilometers. It consists of more than 231,000 kilometers of international and over 874,000 kilometers of domestic fiber.

That same fiber infrastructures also help power Smart Communications’ 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G services that already cover 97 percent of the population.
