Steam Deck now has a big brother, the Steam Machine, and it’s meant to stay in your living room.

The Steam Machine is essentially the Steam Deck, but bigger and 6x more powerful. It has a cube design that’s about 6 inches tall and wide. There’s a light bar on the front that can act as a status bar for game downloads and updates.

What’s more, the face plate is only attached by magnets, so you can easily replace it with whatever design you like.

We also have the power button on the front, two USB-A ports, and a memory card reader so you can easily migrate games from or to your Steam Deck. We then have large cooling vents on the back and more ports.

Under the hood, there’s a semi-custom AMD chip. It’s based on the Zen4 architecture, has 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.8GHz clock speeds, and 30W TDP.

We then have an AMD RDNA3 GPU with 28 CUs, clocked at up to 2.45GHz, and 110W DP. For memory, you can get it with an 8GB GDDR6 module or 16GB with DDR5 RAM. There are also two storage options: 512GB and 2TB.

Like the Steam Deck, it runs on Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS, but has been optimized for the bigger screen.

Handling connectivity is the 2×2 WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It also has a DisplayPort 1.4 that can do 4K 240Hz and an HDMI 2.0 with an output of 4K 120Hz with support for HDR, VRR, DSC, and CEC.

To go with the Machine, Valve also introduced the 2nd-gen Steam Controller. It has a similar look and layout to the Steam Deck. It uses Valve’s 2nd-gen magnetic tech that improves reliability, feel, and responsiveness.

The capacitive touch surfaces enable motion controls. We also have two pressure-sensitive trackpads for couch PC gaming, HD haptics, and 6-axis gyro support. Four L-R triggers are on the back.

Connectivity should be seamless. In fact, the Steam Machine has a dedicated 2.4GHz wireless antenna just for the Controller, with 8ms full end-to-end latency and 4ms polling rate. It charges via a dedicated magnetic adapter.

You can pair up to 4 Steam Controllers with the Steam Machine. Plus, you can use it with other Windows PC wired or over Bluetooth.

The Steam Machine comes packaged with a Steam Controller. Pricing and availability details will be revealed soon.
