Chinese tech company Chuwi has released a new version of its popular mini PC, the LarkBox X 100U. This model serves as an update to the 2023 version of the LarkBox.

The previous mini PC used the Intel N100 processor, but the new LarkBox X 100U steps up to the Intel Core 3 100U. This chip belongs to Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh family and is considered an entry-level part.

Despite being a newer processor, the performance improvement over the older N100 is not huge. The Core 3 100U is best suited for basic everyday computing tasks like web browsing, office work, and streaming video. It comes with an integrated UHD graphics unit that has 64 execution units. This makes the mini PC somewhat capable of playing light games, but it will struggle with modern, high-end AAA titles.

For productivity and media consumption, the Chuwi LarkBox X 100U should have plenty of power. The system comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid-state drive for storage. Chuwi has confirmed that both the memory and the storage drive can be upgraded by the user, which is a good feature for buyers who want to expand the system later.

The mini PC keeps a compact footprint, but it still offers a wide selection of ports on its body. The connections include four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, two Gigabit Ethernet jacks, one DisplayPort 1.2, and one HDMI 2.1 port. The USB-C port is described as “full-featured” and includes DisplayPort Alt mode support. This setup allows the mini PC to run three separate 4K displays at the same time using the Type-C, DisplayPort, and HDMI outputs.

Other notable features include WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity. Chuwi also mentions that the system has an effective cooling solution and a sleek, modern design.
