As some of you would know already, new phones from the Galaxy A series has been introduced already and as with every spec comparison, we’ll be comparing the new phone with its predecessor.
In this NoypiGeeks comparison, we’ll be talking about how the Samsung Galaxy A71 stacks up against the Samsung Galaxy A70.
Let’s start talking about the Samsung Galaxy A70 first. The A70 was released in the Philippines back in April 2019. It features a huge 6.7-inch display along with a triple rear camera set up.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A71 was recently announced in December 2019 and is expected to be released in early 2020. It has a quad-camera that is housed with a unique L-shaped design that is reminiscent of the iPhone 11 Pro‘s set-up.

First up in this spec comparison is their display. Both phones have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screens and are both protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
When it comes to performance, the Samsung Galaxy A71 is equipped with the better chip as it uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G with the Adreno 618 GPU. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A70 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and the Adreno 612 GPU.
On the memory front, both the Samsung Galaxy A71 and A70 have 6GB and 8GB RAM options, but nternal storage is set to only 128GB. Although, you can easily expand your storage up to 512GB by using a microSD card.
If we take a look at the cameras, this is where the two phones really differentiate from one another. The Samsung Galaxy A70 has a triple-rear camera set up that consists of a 32-megapixel main shooter, 8-megapixel (ultrawide) and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) cameras.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A71 boasts of having a quad-camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel (ultrawide), 5-megapixel (macro) and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) cameras.
At the front, the two phones have a 32-megapixel selfie camera so there’s not much of a difference there.
The Samsung Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A71 have a 4,500mAh battery along with a lousy 25W fast charging. If you’re looking for the phone with the higher battery capacity — it’s a tie.
Aside from the main specs above, the two devices both have an under display fingerprint sensor, a face unlock, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Lastly, let’s talk about their price. As of now, there’s no confirmed Philippine price for the A71 and what we only have for now is the European retail price. The Samsung Galaxy A71 is priced at EUR 470.00 (~Php26,600) while the Samsung Galaxy A70 is priced at Php22,990 in the Philippines.
In this matchup, the Samsung Galaxy A71 clearly takes the win over the Samsung Galaxy A70 thanks to its better chip and superior camera. Though the A71 is priced more than the A70, it’s worth paying a little bit more by getting the better overall phone.
